When the performance of major systems also relies on component precision
From November 3 to 6, 2026, "EURONAVAL 2026", the World Naval Defence Exhibition, will bring together the leading international players in the naval defence industry at Paris Nord Villepinte. For Gradel-Baudin and TECEM, this event will provide an opportunity to showcase expertise at the heart of industrial systems: mechanical transmission. On November 4 and 5, Jean-Jacques RAFFENNE, Director of Defence Industry Development, will attend the exhibition on behalf of both companies and meet manufacturers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms and project managers. The objective is straightforward: to understand the needs of naval industry players, discuss their technical challenges and identify projects for which the expertise of Gradel-Baudin and TECEM can provide an appropriate solution.
Components that drive movement
On a naval vessel, the most visible technologies only tell part of the story. Behind complex systems lies a multitude of mechanisms whose precision and reliability determine the performance of the entire system. This is precisely where Gradel-Baudin and TECEM operate: in the field of mechanical transmission and motion.
Gradel-Baudin specialises in the manufacture of ball screws, ball nuts, trapezoidal screws and trapezoidal nuts, available as standard products or developed to order according to project specifications. TECEM specialises in the manufacture of gears, gear systems, pinions, racks, worm gears and other mechanical transmission components.
Two complementary areas of industrial expertise, capable of addressing different but often closely interconnected challenges within mechanical transmission systems.
From standard components to parts developed to meet your requirements
Naval defence projects cannot simply rely on integrating off-the-shelf catalogue components. Many applications require specific dimensions, particular mechanical characteristics or a complete adaptation of the component to the environment in which it will operate.
This is where industrial customisation becomes particularly relevant. Gradel-Baudin and TECEM have extensive experience manufacturing parts that meet specific specifications. Their ability to work from a requirement, drawing or particular technical constraints makes it possible to approach projects differently: rather than systematically looking for an existing component, the objective is to develop a mechanical solution that fully meets the application requirements, particularly in the naval environment.
For engineering departments as well as manufacturers, this approach, combined with proven agility, represents a significant advantage during the design, adaptation and industrialisation phases of equipment.
French industry serving a strategic sector
Mechanical transmission is also part of the broader challenge of maintaining industrial capabilities. In the defence and naval sectors, component availability, supply continuity and the ability to rely on dependable industrial partners are particularly important considerations.
With their complementary facilities and expertise, Gradel-Baudin and TECEM contribute to this industrial skills chain by providing manufacturing solutions for projects requiring precision, adaptability and technical expertise. EURONAVAL 2026 will therefore provide an ideal opportunity to meet industry players, understand their challenges and develop new industrial partnerships.
EURONAVAL 2026: Let’s talk about your projects
Whether you are working on a naval system, defence equipment, positioning mechanism or any other application requiring reliable mechanical transmission, Gradel-Baudin and TECEM can support you in finding a solution perfectly suited to your requirements.
Ball screws, trapezoidal screws, nuts, gears, pinions, racks, splined shafts or specific mechanical assemblies: numerous solutions can be considered and studied according to the constraints of each application.
Jean-Jacques RAFFENNE will be attending on November 4 and 5 at EURONAVAL 2026, Hall 6, Paris Nord Villepinte.
Will you also be attending the exhibition?
Let’s meet to discuss your projects, your requirements and, of course, your mechanical transmission needs.
