A hundred years old, well established and innovative, Gradel-Baudin has looked after its clients with energy and skill since 1921.

In 100 years of existence, Gradel-Baudin has broken new ground, invented and re-invented itself and adapted to more and more specialist technology. A century ago, our story began with the creation of a sawmill followed by the production of automatons. The company turned a corner in 1955, when the screw-machining activity started and the first rolled threads were produced in 1958.
Gradel-Baudin, always keen to meet market expectations, continues to develop and invest in the future.  In 1983, it acquires a VIP 240 thread-rolling machine, the biggest in Europe! Jean-Marie Baudin then takes over running the company in 1992, and the first trials of ball screws rolling are carried out in 1996, at the same time as numerically controlled machining.

The first ball screws are marketed in 1999.

Quality always being at the core of our requirements, 2000 is the year of our ISO 9001 certification.

In 2002, straightening by rolling is developed by the company. In 2007 we bring in the first numerically controlled lathe with turning tools.

Gradel-Baudin continues to develop, and the factory increases in size again in 2008, reaching a total surface of 4000 sqm.

Intent on offering ball screws of quality, Gradel-Baudin installs the induction hardening process in 2016 with the acquisition of a high-performance hardening machine.

In 2018, Freddy Boulart and Michel Irlinger acquire Gradel-Baudin to give it a new lease of life and two new numerically controlled lathes are bought that same year.

The future we aspire to for Gradel-Baudin is full of promise and we will build it up together,  respecting the values that have motivated us for 100 years.
